DICE the
studio behind Battlefield games has prepared the new engine for Battlefield 4.
It's called Frostbite 3, new version of Frostbite engine.
When
it came on the market Battlefield 3 was powered by Frostbite 2. That engine is
today competitor to the Crytek CryEngine 3. On suprise of many Frostbite 2
won't power Battlefield 4. DICE made a video how will Frostbite 3 make
Battlefield 3 better than it's predecessor.
DICE
has worked on simulation off weather. How the wind effects trees, water,
clouds...
These
things won't effect gameplay a lot, but it will take realism to new level. They
have also worked on destroying the buildings.
It's
nice to see technology advances.
Battlefield
4 will be released on October 29, 2013 in North America, October 31, 2013 in
Australia and November 1, 2013 in Europe for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3,
PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
